Home Ministry has given permission for examinations to universities, UGC will release exam dates soon
Amid waiting for new guidelines of University Grants Commission (UGC), the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, on Monday wrote a letter to the Union Secretary of Education, allowing universities and educational institutions to conduct examinations. The Ministry of Home Affairs said in its letter that it is mandatory for universities to conduct final year / semester examinations as per UGC guidelines. The institutions conducting the examinations should conduct the examinations under the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Health.
UGC will release exam dates soon
Let us tell you that the UGC has been asked by the Union HRD Ministry to reconsider its guidelines. In such a situation, the UGC has to issue guidelines regarding the examinations of universities and the new academic session 2020-21. The UGC itself has informed that new guidelines will be released very soon. But with the approval of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it is now expected that UGC will release the dates of final year examinations of the universities along with the guidelines.
Confusion can increase due to cancellation of examinations
Since the UGC guidelines have been issued and the letter of the Ministry of Home Affairs has already canceled university examinations in many states. Even in Uttar Pradesh, the Purvanchal University canceled the final examinations and issued the assessment formula to the students based on the previous semester's marks and internal assessment.In such a situation, there may be increased confusion among universities and students waiting for UGC guidelines whether they will have examinations or not.
